Age Suitability & Family Child Mode
Updated August 10, 2026
Unscroller has one general-audience app listing rated for ages 13 and older. It is not enrolled in an app-store kids category.
Who can use each experience
Under 13
Unscroller is unavailable. A Family invitation cannot create or activate an under-13 child account.
Ages 13–15
A parent or legal guardian with an eligible Family subscription can invite the child’s email to a restricted child account. The child chooses a password, then uses the normal returning-account sign-in.
Ages 16 and older
The person may create a standard Unscroller account, subject to any higher minimum age required in their region.
What Family Child Mode includes
Children can use blocking tools, focus timers, local notifications, to-dos, habits, goals, journals, and bundled first-party resources. Child-created content stays encrypted on that device and is excluded from Unscroller cloud sync and backup. Deleting the app, clearing its data, reinstalling, or changing devices means starting fresh.
Family Child Mode disables community and home user-generated-content feeds, Collaboration Hub, challenges, shared events, focus invitations, profiles, search, friends, follows, messages, comments, reactions, uploads, public sharing, social-provider browsing, AI and voice features, purchases, analytics, attribution, experiments, crash uploads, push-token registration, and child telemetry.
Installation and age signals
Apple and Google family controls may require a parent to approve installation of a 13+ app. Store account or device age signals are privacy-preserving ranges, not exact birth dates, and the account used to download an app may belong to a parent rather than the person using the device. The parent-issued family seat remains the authorization for ages 13–15.
If Apple or Google supplies an under-13 range, or says age verification is required, Unscroller fails closed and does not offer standard signup. A child invitation is limited to the 13–15 account tier.
