1. Who we are

Unscroller is a digital wellness platform that helps people take control of their screen time across iOS, Android, desktop, and web experiences. This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use our apps, website, APIs, and related services (“Services”).

2. Data we collect

Account & Subscription Data

Email, authentication tokens, purchase receipts, and subscription status from Apple, Google, and Stripe so we can verify entitlements.

Usage Metrics

High-level events (focus sessions started, streak milestones, challenge joins) stored with timestamps to power XP, constellations, and reminders. We never capture the contents of pages you visit or the text you type into third-party services.

Optional AI Inputs

If you opt into AI narration or AI Buddy experiences, we process the manifestation prompt, preferred voice, and related narration settings you submit. These requests are transmitted securely to OpenAI solely to synthesize the requested script or voice note. We do not send health data or account credentials.

Device & Diagnostics

App version, OS version, locale, and anonymized error logs to keep the service reliable. We avoid persistent identifiers where possible.

3. How we use data

Deliver core functionality like feed blocking, focus scheduling, leaderboards, and buddy matching.
Sync subscriptions across devices via our Supabase-backed entitlement service.
Detect fraud or policy abuse and keep the community experience safe.
Send optional coaching emails or notifications when you opt in.
Generate AI narration or chat responses when you enable those features; prompts and voice selections are forwarded to OpenAI only for the requested output.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share the minimum necessary data with:

Apple, Google, Stripe: for payment processing and subscription validation.
Supabase: managed Postgres hosting with row-level security for authentication and storage.
OpenAI (optional): if you enable AI Buddy or AI narration, the prompt text and narration settings you provide are sent to OpenAI to generate the requested response or audio. You can disable this anytime inside the app.

5. Data retention & deletion

Account data is retained while your subscription or free account is active and for up to 12 months afterwards for fraud prevention and legal compliance. You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@unscroller.com. We delete linked tokens, focus history, and buddy data within 30 days of verification.

6. Your rights

Depending on your region, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data; object to processing; or withdraw consent for marketing communications. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children

Unscroller is designed for individuals 16+ who can consent to digital services. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
